Common Causes of a Clogged Sewer Line
Tree Roots
When tree roots grow and extend that can begin to crush or grow into your home’s sewer lines which cause cracks and breaks in the pipes, clogging them quickly. Most older homes that have concrete and clay pipes are especially vulnerable to these tree root problems. Once the pipes are cracked, other contaminants such as dirt and sediment can begin to leak into the sewer line and create even bigger problems.
Bellied Pipes
A bellied pipe is when a pipe begins to sag, this creates a pool of stagnant water in your pipe that waste and toilet paper can begin to rest and cause a clog or back up. Bellied pipes are a result of shifting or unstable ground, improper plumbing installing, or improper grading.
Foreign Object
The possibilities are endless, and we have seen it all. Whether its diapers, feminine hygiene products, wet wipes, or more obscure objects such as beer bottles, clothing, towels, or even hair pieces. These object can cause serious problems.
Grease Build Up When your garbage disposal is not used properly or even just the daily use of the kitchen sink and dishwasher can result in a grease build up within the main sewer lines of your home. This can cause serious problems if not taken care of as soon as possible. Luckily, this problem is one of the easiest to fix with a hot water hydro jet cleaning.
